CÚPLA FOCAIL NIGHT
Sunday 14 March 2010 to Sunday 14 March 2010
at An Teach Beag, Clonakilty
A chance for Clonakilty Gaelgóirí, irrespective of what level of Gaeilge they have, to come together in an informal social setting, to converse with whatever few words they have. The only criteria is to use at least a "Cúpla Focail" (two words) during the evening. The emphasis is on comhrá as Gaeilge. It's not a lesson or class, and it's not geared specifically towards fluent Irish speakers. It's merely an opportunity for interested people from the general Cloich na Coillte area to gather in one place to get to know each other and use whatever Irish they have during the course of the evening. Ní bheidh aon brú ar éinne. (There won't be pressure on anyone). Beidh fáilte roimh Ceoltóirí freisin chun cúpla port a seint. The event is organised by an individual who doesn't have an opportunity to use his Irish in everyday life, and feels there are many others in the community in the same position. It's not organised by any Irish language group or any organisation whatsoever, but purely a grassroots effort for muintir Chloich na Coillte le cúpla focail teacht le chéile. Beidh fáilte roimh cách agus níl aon táille ar an oíche.
Sunday 14th March from 9.00pm to 11.30pm in An Teach Beag, Clonakilty
